Although many wedding traditions are specific to each individual culture, but one of the components of wedding ceremonies generally remains universal: the beautiful, delicate dress of the bride.

The color white has long been accepted as the traditional color of the wedding dress. But wedding gowns were not always white. White color – a symbol of purity and innocence in girlhood, and the unsullied heart which she gives to the elect.

Wedding traditions of different peoples of the world, and as a result brides in different cultures around the world, got married in dresses of different colors, attaching different meanings to each color. Some have universal meaning – purple and gold for royalty, white purity and black for death.
